Technical Sales Representative

SUMMARY:
This position comes with Medical Aid, Pension Fund, Full use of Company Car + petrol card and discretionary Annual Bonus.

POSITION INFO:

Job Overview: Achieving sales targets and growth through: excellence in service standards, superior customer support and technical assistance, managing the budgets, product development/training, implementing goals & objectives, maintaining your current customer base whilst garnering new clients.

Successful candidates will undergo extensive technical training in order to acquaint themselves with the requirements of this specific position.

Responsibilities

Developing strategic KPI focused action plans with each regional sales manager to achieve wider business targets and KPI’s.

Analysing sales trends and competitor information and tailoring unique sales approach to ensure efficacy of sales call.

Visiting Key Accounts on a monthly basis.
Maintain existing customer base through various sales activities.
Technical visits where necessary or when requested to provide technical advice
Providing machine advice & basic spot checks for clients
Assessing competitors by analysing and summarizing competitor information and trends.
Developing sales opportunities by researching and identifying potential accounts..
Making cold calls to new and existing customers to explore business opportunities.
Generating product or service interest for customers by providing them with benefits information.
Identifying decision makers within an organization and endeavouring to speak to them.
Making follow up calls to customers who have shown interest during initial contact.
Managing pre-calling planning activities such as call opening, relaying of product information and call closing.
Anticipating questions that may be asked during phone calls or physical meetings and preparing for them by employing effective answering techniques.
Attending & presenting at quarterly sales conferences.

Skills, Experience and Personal Strengths

Min 5 years B2B Sales experience required

Technically oriented with the ability to respond to technical questions

Able to appreciate the concepts of industrial engineering, i.e. how to achieve improved            efficiencies that add value to your customers

Show ability in solving problems & following through

Excellent communication skills at all levels

Ability to fit into factory environments, from production floor to top management/owners

Highly motivated and willing to continuously learn more.

Excellent sales and negotiating skills.

Relationship management skills.

Ability to create and deliver PowerPoint presentations tailored to the audience/client’s needs.

Ability to prioritize, time management and organisational skills.

Analysis of sales-related information and the ability to translate the information to show benefits to client and company.

Equally comfortable with servicing existing customers and developing New Business

Strong analytical skills and the ability to work on ERP systems

Upbeat, highly engaged and goal orientated

Able to travel within South Africa for technical assistance/support

Patient, good listner and relationship driven (i.e. long-term rather than short-term focus)
