JOB DESCRIPTION:

Position Summary: 

  • Achieve maximum sales profitability, growth and market penetration within an assigned territory and/or market segment by effectively selling the Company products and/or related services. Personally contact and secure new business accounts/customers. 
  • Major Responsibilities: Establish, develop and maintain business relationships with current customers and prospective customers in the assigned territory/market segments, to generate new business for the organizations products/services. 
  • Make telephone calls and in person visits and presentations to existing and prospective customers. 
  • Research of market segments & territories, in a view to identify prospective customers and their potential. 
  • Implementation of 80/20 initiatives to drive sustainable growth and margin with key customers. 
  • Develop clear and effective written proposals/quotations for current and prospective customers. 
  • Expedite the resolution of customer problems and complaints. 
  • Coordinate sales effort with marketing, sales management, accounting, logistics and technical service groups. 
  • Create and manages a customer value plan for existing customers highlighting profile, share and value opportunities. 
  • Negotiate TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) initiatives & contracts.
  • Identify advantages and compare organization’s product/services.
  • Plan and organize personal sales strategy by maximizing the return of time investment for the territory/segment.
  • Supply management with oral and written reports on customer needs, problems, interests, competitive activities, and potential for new products and services. 
  • Keep abreast of product applications, technical services, market conditions, competitive activities, advertising and promotional trends through the reading of pertinent literature and consulting with marketing and technical areas.
  • Participate in trade shows and conventions. 
  • Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Monthly and weekly reports on sales, outstanding stock transfers, negative stock, back orders and outstanding dispatches. 
  • Tiering structure corresponding to your AOP commitments. 
  • Growth plan to be updated weekly. 
  • Growth tracker to be updated weekly. 
  • Call plans & call reports to be submitted weekly. 
  • Play books to be completed and updated for each customers in line with customer AOP/ Budgets/ Tiering structures for management approval. 
  • Checking orders and booking reports to ensure all invoicing has been done. 
  • Follow up of all enquiries and quotations. 
  • Compiling reconciliations of petrol slips and entertainment expenses. 
  • Keeping in contact with management of Company and keeping them informed of all aspects of our company, positive or negative. 

Required Education / Experience / Skills: 

  • Matric 
  • Technical and or Mechanical/Electrical qualification is seen as an added advantage 
  • Must possess 5+Years’ experience in the Electrical/Mechanical sector. 
  • Demonstrate aptitude for problem-solving.
  • Ability to determine solutions for customers (consultative sales approach).
  • Must be results-orientated and able to work both independently and within a team environment. 
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite applications and contact management software. 
  • Must have market knowledge of the market and customer base in the identified area.
  • Valid driver’s license Travel:  Extensive travel - Works predominately out of the office. Required to visit customers on site e.g. mining plants. 
  • Works flexible hours.  Is subject to work beyond normal working hours, evenings, weekends and holidays should the need arise.
  • Attends and participates in continuing educational programs designed to keep you abreast of changes in your profession.
  • Position may require out of town travel. 
  • Language: The business language in South Africa is English
