Technical Sales Consultant - Industrial

SUMMARY:
Our client is looking for a technically-minded, confident and driven Technical Sales Consultant to join their sales department

POSITION INFO:

• Maintain and grow existing customer base through cross selling and up selling including correct package concept
• Identify and acquire new business
• Maintain up-to-date pipeline of prospects in accordance with company procedures
• Prepare proposals and quotations
• Negotiate service level agreements
• Manage specific contracts and projects incl. installation of specific equipment sold and operator training
• Provide pre-sales and post-sales support
• Provide product education and advice
• Manage product pricing and communicate price increases as they occur
• Use weekly call planner to work out daily priorities, log and track all contacts and companies at every stage of the sales process with prospects and customers
• Provide accurate, detailed and timely information regarding all prospects and sales activities to the Sales Manager weekly through one-on-one sessions
• Conduct process evaluations
• Introduce constant improvement initiatives using latest technology available
• Achieve and exceed monthly sales targets

Qualifications:

• Min. 3 years Technical Sales experience with a tertiary qualification 
• OR
• Min. 6 years Technical Sales experience with a Matric certificate (Maths and Science essential)
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
• Valid Driver''''s Licence

Skills and Experience:

• Experience in Manufacturing sector and Industrial markets
• Strong communication skills at all levels (customers, buyers, production/maintenance staff/ operations and senior management)
• Strong admin skills
• CRM or similar sales process
• Able to remain calm and composed under pressure
• Able to prioritise tasks and workload
• Able to produce coherent and structured reports
• Able to prepare & research ahead of tasks
