SUMMARY:
Provide technical IFRS guidance on the company group AFS including all disclosures, presentations, and accounting policies.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

JOB DESCRIPTION

Ensure adherence to all disclosures relating to financial institutions (IFRS 9, IFRS 7 and IFRS 13)
Update accounting policies in line with best practice and material disclosures
Guide the reporting team in terms of consolidation entries, deconsolidation entries and other intercompany eliminations
Evaluate corporate transactions for IFRS related disclosure requirements
Prepare technical accounting memo’s for the external auditors justifying accounting treatment

JOB REQUIREMENTS
Formal Qualification

Relevant Honours Degree in Finance & Accounting. CA(SA) is mandatory
JSE registered IFRS Advisor - Mandatory

Experience

5-10 years of IFRS Technical experience at least 2 for a financial/lending institution

Knowledge

IFRS Standards, Technical accounting
