SUMMARY:
We are seeking a Draughtsman for a permanent role based in Durbanville, Western Cape

POSITION INFO:
Applicants are required to meet the following criteria:
Â

Grade 12 with related tertiary qualification preferred
5+ years relevant experience (negotiable)
AutoCAD program experience and qualification
Fast learner with good communication skills and able to handle pressure
High level of numeracy and literacy and excellent interpersonal skills
Valid drivers and own reliable transport â no public transport in the area
Clear criminal record, sober habits and contactable references
Working hours : Monday â Thursday 7am â 5.30pm, Friday 7am â 3pm
Willing to take annual leave during December construction shutdown period

The successful applicant would be responsible for, but not limited to:

Manage communication around designs and technical details of assigned projects
Compile measurement layouts and preliminary layouts when requested
Compile construction drawings for production
Design beam and staircase layouts
Compile bending schedules and assist with other design needs
Order steel for stairs, beams and other custom items for assigned projects
Ensure accurate, efficient and cost-saving final layouts for casting
Obtain written approval of designs from clients and engineers
Ensure approved designs are received by the engineer timeously
Timeously ensure quotations are revised for final order and ensure all is accepted before sending to factory for production
Monitor installation schedule to prioritise projects and communicate possible delays and issues to the coordinator / planner
Notify clients as to why changes have been made
Capture and designs on FloorCAD
Check layouts and FloorCAD designs
Correspond with all relevant parties to obtain information
