JOB DESCRIPTION:

Responsibilities:

By using the latest CAD and Inventor, the Technical Draughtsman must prepare clear, complete, and accurate working plans and detailed drawings from rough or detailed sketches or notes from the Design Team.
Co-operation with Workshop, Production, and Management to obtain correct and complete definitions to establish the needs of each project.
Align needs and definitions of Workshop, Production, and Management into a final solution.
Design and draw detailed drawings of projects while being able to foresee the end-product and take the responsibility off other team members.
Continuous and active involvement during the manufacturing of project components.
Must be able to function independently during projects.
Basic project Cost Estimations, Optimizing Designs, and Problem-Solving.

Key Competencies:

Education and Experience

Minimum of a Grade 12
Be computer literate and able to use a wide range of software packages.
Understand Construction or Production methods and processes.
A relevant qualification in either Multi-Disciplinary Drawing Office Practice or a Bachelor of Engineering Technology in Mechanical Engineering will be advantageous.
Have a solid understanding of Drafting Techniques, Manufacturing Processes, and be familiar with the Engineering environment and terminology.
At least 2 years of extensive working experience with AutoCAD and Inventor.
Applicants need to be able to send examples of past drawing or designs.

Interpersonal Skills

Mechanical aptitude with the ability to complete mathematical calculations.
Enjoy designing on computers and creating drawings.
Be able to think in a three-dimensional context.
Have initiative and deadline-driven.
Be detailed orientated and accurate.
Be able to work under pressure.
