SUMMARY:
Our client in the Insurance Industry has an opportunity available for a Technical Broker to be based in the Cape Town area.

POSITION INFO:

Requirements:

Matric
Level 4 FETC in Short-term Insurance
Higher Certificate in Insurance
Post matric qualification is an advantage (BComm Risk/Accounting, BBA)
RE qualification
Minimum 7 years short term insurance with 5 of the 7 years in a commercial account servicing service, claims and underwriting capacity
Experience in customer liaison; building and maintaining relationships
Experience working in a Brokerage is preferred
Insurance knowledge to at least an intermediate level
Ability to negotiate and place a medium to large commercial account
Legal requirements of the insurance industry
Claims knowledge

KPAs:

Set up and create broking information in accordance with the Company''s Minimum Standards for Commercial Business
Obtain quotes and negotiate with selected markets
Load policy information onto the system and create client file
Ensure adherence to underwriting guidelines
Attend to general correspondence and e-mails to clients according to company standards
Request quotes from insurers
Ensure that customer queries are attended to and resolved expeditiously
Attend to all client queries
