SUMMARY:
Technical Account Manager_Mining required for established Global Organisation with sound knowledge of mine planning, fleet management / TMM safety technologies and able to travel extensively throughout SA and Southern Africa to manage relationships with existing clients.

POSITION INFO:

SCOPE OF THE ROLE

Act as the central point for managing the relationship with existing company clients. Specialise in taking a pro-active approach to problem-solving with clients working closely with them to ensure they receive the maximum benefit from the Client’s suite of products. Responsible for continually fostering the relationship and working directly with the Client’s customers to help them succeed.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Pro-actively manage the Client’s relationship with assigned clients
  • Responsible for direct sales (product upgrades and services) to existing clients
  • Responsible for working directly with clients to match the Client’s suite of products with the client’s needs and requirements
  • Directly responsible for the communication and coordination of additional client support as needed with other departments
  • Ensures the client’s needs and expectations are met
  • Provides expert technical advice to existing clients
  • Provides timely feedback to the Technical Support and Software Development Departments to assist in continually improving client support and the Client’s suite of products
  • Effective communication & good relationship skills
  • Ability to manage and work in teams
  • Understands the sales process
  • Timely reporting of sales opportunities
  • Meet sales goals and objectives for your region
  • Meet the Key Performance Indicators as defined by your manager
  • Other duties as assigned

 

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Must have an understanding of enterprise sales as well as the basic mining processes
  • Must have knowledge of mine planning, fleet management and TMM safety technologies
  • Detail oriented and must be very organised
  • Able to communicate clearly in a courteous and professional manner
  • Pro-active problem-solving abilities
  • Previous experience with Salesforce CRM advantageous
  • Basic knowledge of servers, programming and electronics is advantageous

  • Extensive travel within Southern and East Africa will be required
  • Protect the company brand and reputation by exhibiting good behaviour and reporting on any noncompliance to safety, procedural, or other customer dictated regulations
  • Maintain good relations with the customer ‘s personnel and clearly communicate any issues that may arise
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with managers, technicians and engineers
  • Continuously seek opportunities to improve the quality of the systems, installations, and support procedures

 

EDUCATION BACKGROUND

  • Matric and Bachelor''s degree in Engineering, Marketing, Sales or equivalent combination of education and related experience
  • Three or more years of technical sales/account management experience in enterprise sales

  • As required for business purposes - extensive
