Global Strategic Management Consulting Firm is currently recruiting for a skilled Consulting professional to join their dynamic Transport Consulting team.

You are an energetic problem-solver who has a keen interest in current and emerging IT trends, particularly those related to transport.  You come with the knowledge, understanding and ability to advise on IT-related system queries that arise within the transport and other consulting projects.

Main Purpose of the role:

To provide support on short-term consulting and longer-term project implementation assignments.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

• Assisting with, contributing to, and taking ownership of project deliverables or components of deliverables.
• Development of presentations and drafting of reports capturing key outcomes and analysis.
• Understanding and advising on systems and IT-related issues in transport and other consulting projects.
• Conceptualize problems, variables, and interrelationships of such to find workable solutions.
• Perform analysis, verification, validation, and sanitization of complex datasets, and translation of this analysis into easily communicable, well-structured findings.
• Working with project teams to understand the context of analysis and delivery requirements.
• Working directly with system development teams, translating project needs to workable technology requirements.
• Preparing presentations to capture key findings, project outcomes, and / or project approach.
• Producing high quality research and analysis on subject area, in relation to project needs.
• Participating in and contributing professionally to client-meetings.
• Supporting the broader practice as a resource by conducting research, analysis, or providing assistance on projects not related to specialist area if the need arises.
• Conducting research, synthesizing and summarizing information, and bringing added value and insight to the information collated.
• Assisting with project co-ordination, project logistics and administration.
• Contribute to proposal development.

Key qualification, skills and attributes:

• A graduate qualification (NQF 7 or higher), preference for it to be in transport, engineering, IT or other relevant field (Track record of academic excellence is required)
• At least 3-4 years’ experience gained within an the IT or technology or systems related arena ideally within a transport related consulting or advisory or corporate services or related professional environment
• Proven and solid MS excel skills
• Strong analytical thinking ability with proficiency in data analysis tools
• Good exposure to research, analysis, synthesis and problem-solving
• Excellent communication, attention to detail report writing and presentation capabilities
• Must demonstrate strong numeracy capabilities
• Demonstrable ability to clearly break down and explain a complex topic verbally and in writing
• Ability to research and translate findings into products

Advantageous:

• Multiple South African languages with a strong command of English
• Understanding of, or previous exposure to business planning, financial analysis and / or financial modelling is an added advantage
