TOOLMAKER – AUTOMOTIVE INDUSTRY ONLY – EAST LONDON

National automotive manufacturing company is looking to appoint experienced Toolmakers for their plant in East London

Qualifications and Experience

• Grade 12 and Qualified Tool and Jig Maker / Toolmaker, Trade Test ESSENTIAL.
• Minimum of 4 years’ experience as Press Toolmaker within an automotive environment.
• Stable work record essential.
• Must be willing to work shifts

Duties

• Progression and production tooling.
• Milling and grinding.
• Modification and maintenance of press tools.
• Welding (Arc, Tig and Co2).
• Upgrading of existing tooling to customer specifications.
• Making new welding fixtures, checking fixtures and jigs.
• Setting jigs and fixtures to spec with perceptron readings.
• Assembly and modification of existing jigs and fixtures.
• Post pierce maintenance i.e.: making and replacing strippers, ejectors dyes and punches.
• Machining new dyes and punches and repairing problematic press shop tools.
• Manufacture, repair, maintain and modify tools, jigs and dyes to customer and company quality standard.
• Ensure that work practices comply with the company SHEQ procedures and works instructions.
• Always maintain good housekeeping to ensure a safe working environment.
