Job Description

Our client invites applications from energetic individuals to join the young team in the capacity of an Estimator. The successful applicants will be responsible for the following:

• Liaise with various clients, shipping lines, Agent, Port Authorities, Customs and Transporters
• Obtain best rates through liaison with various Airlines, Shipping Agents, and Overseas Agents
• Registering incoming estimate requests and responding in order of urgency and complexity
• Following up on estimates and measuring success
• Consult with internal departments i.e., Operations, Sales, and Customer Service to ensure accurate follow through of costing and feedback to relevant parties
• Advising clients on viable transport and product option
• Ensure all Imports, Exports and Cost Estimates for Air, Ocean, Road and Over Border Freight are completed timeously and accurately
• Negotiate best terms/pricing for maximum company profitability
• Manage all relevant documentation with regards to containers, breakbulk and LCL cargo

Qualifications

• Matric or equivalent qualification

Skills

• Excellent and updated knowledge of INCOTERMS
• Minimum of 2 years working experience in a similar role in the Freight Industry
• Familiar with Customs Tariffs and Port Charges
• Multimodal experience (Airfreight – Imports/Exports) will be advantageous but not a pre-requisite
