TLB Operator

SUMMARY:
Key Purposes: Our client is looking for a successful candidate that will be required to operate a TLB (Tractor-Loader-Backhoe) and carry out Maintenance Labourer duties. This is a live in position at the Game Reserve in Zululand.

POSITION INFO:

Minimum Requirements:

 

•   Minimum 2 to 3 years’ experience in Heavy Duty driver/Operator services.
•   Valid Driver’s License (with PDP) is ideal
•   Valid TLB Operating Compliance Certificate (Licence)    
• Good track record and proof of operating a TLB

 

Key Attributes:

•  Knowledge in driving services, transport of heavy equipment, dangerous goods, and operating heavy construction machines.
•   Excellent hand, eye and foot coordination
•   Basic knowledge of daily maintenance procedures on construction machines, trucks, and low bed.
•   Attention to detail
•   Accomplish goals in a team environment
•   Ideally reside within the Game Reserve area for easy daily commute to and from work

 

Job Functions:

•  Carry out pre-start checks of the Front-End Loader and any other item of plant you are required to operate.
• Operate /drive Front End Loader properly and safely to suit the individual job conditions.
•  Loading and offloading rocks, debris, and other materials from heavy equipment.
•   Ensure safety of other team members and the public in accordance with the legislative requirements.
• Set out all necessary work signs as per the appropriate Traffic Control Plan.
•  Report any fault/damage/problem with the Loader or other plant to the Plant Foreman.
•   Carry out routine services and minor repairs to the Loader and other items of plant in consultation with the Workshop Personnel.
•  Keep a diary of record of jobs, quantities, any other plant used and record on weekly timesheet, private work forms, requisitions/orders and stores issue dockets.
•   Keep Loader in a clean and tidy state.
•  Undertake various maintenance labouring duties.
•   Operate loader in a safe manner.
•  Ensure proper advance warning signs are erected to an appropriate plan.
•   Ensure all staff are wearing safety vests.
•   Note any other jobsite problem you encounter and inform the Work Supervisor as soon as practicable.
