SUMMARY:
• NDip/BTech in Mech Eng. or Industrial Engineering • Min 5 to 8 years’ experience with above KPA criteria • Solid knowledge / experience with TIE principles • Computer literacy essential (advanced Excel and Powerpoint, CAD)

POSITION INFO:

Key Performance Areas

  • Leads manufacturing improvements, conducts complex process and technology changes
  • Promotes and supports activities to improve productive efficiency through continuous improvement, effective layout and functional ergonomics
  • Demonstrates effective problem solving by applying techniques such as: Lean Manufacturing, 6S, Set up Reduction / SMED, TPM, e-Kanban, OEE, Poka-Yoke, Kaizen, etc.
  • Implements and sustainslean manufacturing production systems in the plant by effectively applying Yamazumi charts, Standardised Work Combination Charts, Line balancing, Element Analysis, Work Cycle Efficiency
  • Ensures that the standard times in the system are updated and that they reflect the actual line status
  • Ensuresstandardisation across the plantsand implementation of TPS principles
  • Strategic WIP Reduction
  • Participates in Audits
  • Manages JIT, Jidoka systems and logistic systems
  • Leads kaizen teams and co-ordinates TIE activities on the shop floor
  • Monitors TIE activities and reports on non-conformance,variances and delivery to timelines
  • Provides technical assistance for product introductions from start to end, including manufacturing process readiness, equipment utilization and manpower planning
  • Ensures that all objectives, goals, tasks, and commitments are implemented within timeframes
  • Promotes effective communication and coordination within own and between other divisions
  • Ensures that TIE best practices are shared and implemented uniformly with associates
  • Ensures that safety rules are adhered to and facilitates safety issues
  • Provides effective service and assistance to manufacturing areas
  • Experienced in TLRA roll out and implementation and sustenance

 

 

Minimum Qualifications/Experience/Knowledge

  • NDip/BTech in Mech Eng. or Industrial Engineering
  • Min 5 to 8 years’ experience with above KPA criteria
  • Solid knowledge / experience with TIE principles
  • Computer literacy essential (advanced Excel and Powerpoint, CAD)
  • Project management skills
