Systems Integration Technician

SUMMARY:
My client a Security company (Protection services) is looking for a Systems Integration Technician.

POSITION INFO:

Responsible for performing customer support activities involving on-site installation, repairing and maintenance of complex security equipment and systems.

1.1             Matric / Grade 12 or equivalent (NQF level 4).

1.2             Competent in low voltage electrical systems.

1.3             Proven experience in security systems installation and maintenance.

1.4             Possess a sound understanding of basic electronics and technical security systems.

1.5             PSiRA (Minimum Grade E) will be beneficial.

1.6             Valid driver’s license.

1.7             Any relevant electrician certificate / diploma.

May be required to work outside working hours from time to time.

Functional outputs and activities will include, but are not limited to:

2.1             Installing:

2.1.1         Install various security systems for customers on site as and when required.

2.1.2         Complete all wiring, connections, and equipment installations ensuring that all security systems are complete and satisfy customer and contractual requirements.

2.1.3         Configure and programme relevant electronic systems.

2.1.4         Troubleshoot new system installations to ensure proper function and to ensure system meets customer and company requirements.

2.2             Maintenance:

2.2.1         Conduct ongoing system checks to ensure all systems are in working order.

2.2.2         If system malfunctions are detected, diagnose problems and perform service and repairs on faulty systems.

2.2.3         Respond to all customer complaints regarding the security systems, ascertain equipment / systems problems and repair said problems.

2.3             Client service & marketing:

2.3.1         Liaise with clients, management, and colleagues to ensure smooth running of all operations.

2.3.2         Demonstrate a high level of customer service.

2.3.3         Promote, build, and maintain good customer relations and assists with contract retention.

2.3.4         Ensure that all installation and service standards are followed at all times.

2.3.5         Constantly communicate with customers regarding status, progress, and resolution of all assigned duties.

2.4             Additional:

2.4.1         Participate in an On-call rotation as and when required.

2.4.2         Assist and interface with the Technical Specialist regarding on-site scheduling of work activities and timely delivery of equipment.

2.4.3         Proper documentation of installation issues / actions / resolutions both internally and externally (site visit reports, acceptance forms, service tickets, etc.).

2.4.4         Maintain adequate parts inventory; keep inventory log.
