JOB DESCRIPTION:

Description and skills

The Systems Analyst works closely with Business Analysts, Architects and Developers in order to design new IT solutions, modify, enhance or adapt existing systems and integrate new features or improvements, with the aim of improving business efficiency and productivity

Education:

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems or related field.

TOGAF certification a plus.

Experience:

5 years’ work experience as a systems analyst.

Advanced experience in Object Oriented design, Service Oriented Architecture and Java.

Advanced knowledge of ERDs, process flow charts, sequence diagrams and use cases.

Ability to document requirements using UML.

SQL – Database design, queries, reporting.

Enterprise Messaging Bus architectures.

Experience in using Modelling tools (e.g., Enterprise Architect).

Possess advanced programming logic and ability to write pseudo-code.

Strong skills to investigate and analyse information in troubleshooting.

Good understanding of project management principles and SDLC.

Good grasp of Java coding techniques and the ability to read and understand code.

Thorough understanding of process flows and business rules and how this is modelled in the IT systems.

Exposure to one or more of the following languages XML, and JSON.

Excellent communication skills.

Experience working in a large corporate environment helpful.
