The successful individual is comfortable in engaging with stakeholders at all levels of the organization and recognizes the significance of communication as one of the key skills required by the Systems Analyst when translating the functional requirements into systems requirements.  He passionately lives the belief that technology not just enables business but will increasingly become one of the key drivers of successful 21st century businesses. The role entails the improvement of business efficiency and productivity through the design of new IT solutions, modification or adaptation of existing systems and the integration of new features. The successful candidate must possess high level technical expertise, together with clear insight into the use of technology to support current business practices

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or any IT equivalent qualification
• Experience with Java GUI front-end development, SQL, Postgres, or equivalent database tools
• Experience with Agile software development using JIRA
• 4 - 7 years of experience as a System Analyst in Banking; Insurance; Finance Sector
• Experience in IT or database administration a plus
• Experience working in a research environment that relies extensively on Open Source solutions

   

  EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• Examine existing IT systems and business models,
• Analyze business and functional requirements for technical feasibility,
• Implement, configure, and test feasible solutions,
• Translate business and functional requirements into highly specified systems requirements
• Identify options for potential solutions and assess them for both technical and business sustainability,
• Undertake product development, i.e. develop solutions and related products,
• Keep up to date with technical and industry developments,
• Work closely with colleagues – business analysts, developers, user experience designers, testers and a variety of end user to ensure technical compatibility and user satisfaction
• Provide input into and/or drive solution design, 
• Assist in the investigation of the AS-IS (from a system point of view) and
• Participate in the mapping of the UI design in line with the optimal systems performance
• Conduct systems, processes, risk and root cause analysis
• Formulate specification artefacts (SRS or TRS) that are in alignment with business / functional requirements and that are comprehensive enough for user signoff, yet concise enough to be part of the solution architecture and design disciplines
