Primary Responsibilities

• The Sustainability Officer shall be responsible for collection of data, analysis and interpretation of sustainability data
• The Officer additionally performs administrative tasks for the Procurement and Finance divisions.
• As a continual improvement process, the Officer must communicate and coordinate with management under the 3 pillars – Better Planet, Better Society, and Better Governance – and their contributors to address sustainability issues, and act and oversee our corporate sustainability strategy

Specific Responsibilities

Sustainability:

• Handle incoming requests for funds from NGOs and community-based initiatives
• Perform and undergo risk analyses during the selection of potential community projects for funding
• Provide internal communication related to community projects and collections of Sustainability data (i.e. E-mail, Newsletter)
• Handle the collection of data for Sustainability reporting on Better Planet and Better Society pillars
• Prepare and coordinate internal and external sustainability data verification audits
• Consolidate results on activities performed related to local initiatives
• Develop and maintain work-in-progress (WIP) on all local initiatives and community projects and other Incentive Reporting requirements as applicable
• Provide all other statistical information gathering related to SED (socio-economic development) projects performed under the Better Society pillar
• Maintain records of all requests for funds, raw data and calculations reported under corporate annual sustainability, for traceability purposes
• To report immediately any non-conformances to the Sustainability committee and manager and party responsible
• Rectify non-conformances through corrective/preventative actions proposed by auditee/auditors
• Actively participate in all special projects and campaigns, as needed
• Assist with internal and external Sustainability queries

Procurement:

• Handle the document verification stage of onloading new suppliers and subcontractors
• Maintain records of suppliers and subcontractors, on the Procurement Teamsite, for auditing purposes
• Raise purchase orders on the request of Business Units and provide information to ensure deliver of order thereafter
• Receive and prepare credit applications for approval by Procurement Manager and Finance Manager
• Maintain and monitor B-BBEE compliance of suppliers and subcontractors
• Communicate with suppliers and subcontractors to confirm bank details, at the request of Accounts Payable
• Adhere to and perform tasks within the instructions and objectives of the Global Procurement Policy

General:

• Adhere to all quality and safety requirements of the SGS management system
• Perform any other reasonable tasks as assigned by direct line manager
• Adhere to the Code of Integrity and Rules For Life Policy
