CORE PURPOSE OF JOB

• Lead the development and execution of strategic sustainability initiatives, promoting and enabling the integration of sustainability initiatives throughout the institution.
• Ensure that the sustainability initiatives enhances the operational and institutional performance and underpin the long-term institutional strategic objectives.
• Ensure that the sustainability initiatives are effectively and efficiently implemented.
• Enable the institution to make its contribution to the promotion and implementation of sustaibility initiatives in Mandela Bay

• Development and execution of strategic sustainability initiatives
• Enhancement of the operational and institutional performance through various projects.
• Achieve Efficiency and Effectiveness of Sustainability Initiatives with relevant tools and reporting.
• Promotion and implementation of sustainability initiatives in line with best practices.
• Develop and Implement Governance protocol and criteria in this field.
• Active participation as a Trusted Business Partner in the University culture.

REQUIREMENTS

• Qualification: An appropriate M+4 degree or equivalent in related field.  Project Management is essential. Preference will be given to candidates with a Post Graduate Qualification in the Built Environment.
• 6-8 years’ experience in which competence has been gained
• A valid driver’s license is required.
• 2 years’ experience directly linked to sustainability in a large corporation would be an advantage.
