SUMMARY:
A well-known company working in the mining environment is seeking to employ a Millwright with electrical skills. Must have solid MINING related experience .Permanent position based in Kathu. Assist with maintenance on major underground mining equipment and renders assistance to sales team. Will ensure that company's after market requirements on Machining equipment are met.
POSITION INFO:
Millwright - Support Technician: Mines
Northern Cape - Kathu
Will give assistance to sales team for the Northern Cape Area (Mostly nmines in the Kathu/ Kuruman area) and field service technician on Mining Machines and trackless Mining equipment.
Qualification and skills required:
- Millwright trade test with minimum of 5 years Mining related experience
- Experience in the maintenance of trackless mining equipment
- Valid driver’s license
- The candidate must be medically fit to work underground
Responsibilities:
- Monitoring and supervising of day-to-day aftermarket activities in the region
- Identifies critical spares that are required for the introduction of new equipment to the area, i.e., to align with the delivery of new machine in the Northern Cape
- Technical advice to clients regarding correct maintenance practices and procedures
- The employee will co-ordinate and schedule his activities, ensuring that the company’s clients receive exceptional service support
Overtime & Travel:
- The employee may be required to work overtime (breakdown/after-hour callouts)
- Travel within the region as well as from the Northern Cape to Johannesburg (on ad hoc basis) – if and when necessary
