POSITION INFO:

 Supply Planning Manager (Gauteng)

Description

 Strategy Delivery

• Development strategies with manufacturing sites and 3rd parties to improve overall supply performance for RSA commercial including service improvement and optimising inventory holding.
• Establish optimised level of inventory holding for RSA commercial
• Develop and implement end to end SC inventory reduction strategies to drive inventory level to the agreed target, define stock policies and replenishment strategies with Demand Planning Leads

Monthly IBP Cycle

• Implementation of IBP SMR in accordance with latest business requirements
• Facilitate monthly supply Management Review
• Develop 24 months rolling supply plan jointly with CMO’s, 3rd Parties and Manufacturing sites
• Consolidate and aggregate various supply points, CMO’s and 3rd parties supply plan.
• Consolidate and quantify future Opportunity & Risks
• Drive Gap closing actions and drive decision making on key supply drivers impacting ability to service
• Drive demand shaping actions/decisions using existing excess inventories
• Representative in Sites IBP meetings

Monthly Operations

• Initiate & lead supply prioritization discussions with Demand planning team, Manufacturing sites, CMO’s and 3rd parties
• Track and improve on supply related parameters and KPI’s with supply sites, CMO & 3rd Parties. Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions with all supply points.
• Enable clear communication between operations and sales to satisfy demand, managing any potential supply issues ahead of time
• Interact with Marketing, Sales, Demand Planners and Supply points to manage the product life cycle including key events and new product innovation
• Drive inventory reduction and optimisation with all supply points

Continuous Improvement

• Develop methodology to manage supply planning activities by exception
• Enhance process and tool to allow forward risk assessment and mitigation of supply risks with CMO’s, 3rd Parties and Manufacturing sites
• Build effective relationships with all supply points to strengthen supply reliability, responsiveness and agility
• Lead and/or support troubleshooting and problem resolution for planning issues impacting service

Other

• Support commercial planning deliverables as part of the management team
• Participation and involvement in strategic projects that delivery against the business and supply chain strategy
• Contribute to the development of new system solutions and automation
• Conduct adhoc supply related analytics for Demand and Supply Manager
• Conduct adhoc supply related analytics for Demand and Supply Manager
• Responsible for end to end supply chain new product launch process

Requirements

KNOWLEDGE

• Computer skills on Excel, Qlikview, Power BI
• A solid understanding of S&OP
• Deep working knowledge of ERP systems, esp SAP
• Deep technical knowledge of Supply Chain operations and Supply Planning operations
• Vast experience on managing inventory

SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES:

• Ability to aggregate various supply point information to derive at total business supply outlook
• Ability to understand sensitivity of demand supply plans and articulate risks and decisions with business stakeholders.
• Ability to analyse and craft strategies to reduce inventory and optimize inventory level
• Strong leadership skill to guide business decision making considering service, cost and cash.
• Ability to represent market in the global planning platforms
• Demonstrated success in continuous improvements on service level and inventory reduction through enhancement of process, tools and capability building
• Ability implement and streamline process to support planning performance monitoring, tracking and improvement
• Performance driven and solution orientated
• Strong analytical and numerical skills a must
• Strong technical skill in MS Office, especially excel
• Highly collaborative, flexible and attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise across all levels, excellent cross function and collaboration skills required
• The motivation and ability to create, implement and drive new processes is essential. Ability to influence and drive cross functional deliveries
• Team Management experience is highly desired
• Proven accountability and success with multiple tight deadline deliverables
• End to end understanding of Supply Chain operations in Plan, Source, Make and Deliver.
• Deep understanding of S&OP and particularly supply planning contribution, key KPI and parameters.
• Strong understanding of new product launch process within Supply Chain

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

• Degree in Supply Chain Management preferable, or Engineering qualification
• Exposure to Manufacturing essential
• Import/Export experience preferable
• 5 years’ experience within a similar role, preferably in FMCG/Pharmaceutical environment
• 10 years’ experience within a Supply Chain environment
• Demonstrated success in service and inventory improvement
• Experience in operating with SAP, Qlikview, Power BI
