Supplier Management Specialist (Johannesburg)

POSITION INFO:

We are looking for a driven and motivated Supplier Management Specialist who can really make their mark by developing and continually improving our post-awarded supplier processes, designated to enhance relationships that drive excellent supplier performance, value for money and innovation.

Reporting to our Global Procurement Director, this is a super opportunity for a driven and passionate individual who is interested in helping shape our Global Procurement strategy and in turn helping “Move Science Forward”.

You will be key in developing and measuring delivery performance metrics ensuring the most cost-effective suppliers are identified who deliver on quality and service excellence underpinning our values. This collaborative approach with suppliers on solutions in turn helps improve outcomes and reduce risks, while continuing to foster mutually beneficial relationships.

Academics / Academic Qualifications:

vNo formal qualifications are being sought for this role, however the ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate detailed experience and a successful track record within supplier/contract management. Ideally this experience would have been gained as part of a procurement/supply chain role in a multicultural environment.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

vImplementing a formal supplier and contract management process for all key suppliers and contracts, including a structured engagement programme with suppliers and recording/tracking of agreed actions.

vLeading the contact management process, working with business stakeholders to ensure all key suppliers are actively managed.

vSetting supplier management KPIs, monitoring performance and reporting on delivery.

vEnhances supplier relationships by developing and continually improving upon post-award supplier processes.

vPromotes coordination of supplier management activities between partners through existing mechanisms and establishment of new forums as needed.

vOffers input regarding negotiation processes and related tools.

vSupports the development of supplier strategies, bid packages, and contracts.

vEnsuring all key contracts have appropriate SLA’s and KPI’s in place.

vEnsuring performance of supplier audits and training.

vWork with the business to ensure adherence with the Supplier Management Manual, ensuring all company policies and procedures are followed.

vComply with all security policies and procedures, quality management, health and safety, and environmental policies and general duty of care.
