A Study Coordinator (Nurse) - 24 Months FTC vacancy is available at our Client, Wits Health Consortium in Parktown - Gauteng.

Background
Wits Health Consortium (Pty) Limited ("WHC") is a wholly-owned Company of the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg (South Africa) under its Faculty of Health Sciences. WHC provides Faculty with a legal framework within which to operate the research and other activities necessary to support its academic objectives. In addition, WHC offers a range of products and services to the Academics conducting these activities in order to assist with the management thereof.
Main purpose of the job
- To administer, maintain and coordinate the logistical aspects of clinical trials according to good clinical practice, the study protocol and the standard operating procedures and to act as a pivotal point of contact for the research and the study sponsors
Location
Key performance areas
- Patient recruitment and retention
- Study patient contact activities and files prior to screening visits
- Perform patient visits and vitals and direct patients for relevant procedures and tests, report any adverse events to Medical Officer
- Quality control patient files and proactively resolve protocol queries and missing data
- Administer study treatment to patients based on the protocol
- Assist the pharmacist with IVRS acknowledgment of drug and shipments
- Investigator File maintenance and filing of essential documents
- Attend local and international study start-up meetings
- Data entry and query resolution via study portals
- Prepare files for study monitor visits and allocate time to monitors when on site
Required minimum education and training
- Nursing Diploma (4-Year diploma)
- Certification in good clinical practice (ICH GCP)
- Computer literate
- SANC registration
Desirable additional education, work experience and personal abilities
- Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and outlook skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to multitask and make decisions independently
- Ability to manage data and generate data reports
Required minimum work experience
- 2 years’ experience in a clinical trial environment
