Stormwater Modeller

We are seeking hydraulic and hydrological Modeller of Storm-water drainage infrastructure for our client’s offices in Port Elizabeth, East London OR Cape Town. This appointment will be in terms of the company’s Employment Equity Plan.

The salary will be market related and dependent on the applicant’s qualifications and experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Catchment hydrology and flood hydraulics for large, urban catchments;
• Modelling of existing and proposed Storm-water drainage systems with PCSWMM;
• Conceptual design of required Storm-water infrastructure improvements;
• Technical report writing of hydrological and hydraulic focused reports

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• At least a BSc, BEng or B-Tech in Civil Engineering
• Registered PrEng or PrTech (Eng)
• Proficient in the use of PCSWMM, AutoCAD, ArcGIS, Microsoft Office Suite;
• Consideration will be given to candidates who are proficient in the use of Hydraflow Hydrographs, Storm Sewers, Storm and Sanitary Analysis if they do not have experience with the above software.
• At least 8 years’ post qualification experience in Storm-water master planning and steady and unsteady state modelling of open channel and closed channel Storm-water systems;
• Must be an effective communicator (personal, business, written, spoken);
