SUMMARY:
The ideal candidate for this position will have at least 5 years' warehousing experience in chemical stores.   Matric and a relevant tertiary qualification.  Knowledge of systems such as JD Edwards or ERP would be an advantage.

POSITION INFO:
This position involves controlling the receiving, warehousing & despatch of goods in the Warehousing Storage Facilities.

Requirements:

  • Grade 12 plus relevant qualification (store/warehouse  control) or assessed equivalent competence.
  • Computer literate in relevant software (Latis/JD Edwards or ERP system and google suite) advantages
  • Stores/Warehousing experience of minimum 5 years.
  • Chemical store experience is essential.
  • Mechanical and consumable  experience are advantageous.
  • Good people interaction skills
  • Good communication and organizational skills
Duties and Responsibilities
a) Control all goods; receiving, storage and despatching at the warehouse
b) Maintain Good Housekeeping practices in the Stores at all times.
c) Rotate stock and monitor stock expiry and deterioration.
d) Supervise & Control the daily activities of the Forklift Drivers and Store Assistants
e) Ensure that all stock is received, stored, picked and despatched on time and in the most cost effective manner
f) Do all relevant entries in Latis related to receiving and dispatching
g) Report any loss or damage to stock and or company assets under your control to the Warehouse and Logistics Manager.
h) Report any deviations on delivery scheduled times/stock to the relevant company personnel and or customers

Authority - 
a) Responsible for ensuring no unauthorised personnel entering the Stores
b) Sign delivery notes and receipt them into the Computer system .
c) Sign stores issue/received notes
d) Manage and execute all required Latis entries on the computer
e) Responsible for issuing transport request to Logistics

Duties -
a) Maintain Safety procedures, and sound housekeeping principles and take due care of all equipment/assets under your control/care.
b) Receive goods from all suppliers
c) Check the Delivery Note against the relevant order
d) Check the goods against the Order and Delivery Note
e) Perform all functions as per company and warehouse procedures
f)  Enter all orders/goods received on the computer.
g) Place all QC accepted goods into their Relevant Pack, label and seal all stock items and ensure that they are put into their correct bins or designated locations.
h) Ensure that all stock is kept in a neat and orderly state and the physical count agrees with the computer balances
i) Carry out perpetual stock counts and assist with quarterly wall to wall stock takes
j) Comply with the Company administrative and operational procedures.
k) Ensure that the stores are clean and tidy at all times
I) Assist with export related functions as and when required
m) Ensure that all goods are issued for despatch in accordance with the Company''s procedures and Quality System
n) Perform all necessary computer functions
o) Operate computerised stock control systems
p) Ensure that you effectively control your staff by monitoring their time keeping and performance.
q) Ensure that all stock control issues/Stock rotation are effectively managed so as to ensure minimum stock loss
r) Effectively communicate any non compliance or potential problem areas to the Warehousing & Logistics Manager and other relevant authority.
s) Ensure that all health, safety and security procedures are adhered to at all times
t) Ensure that all warehouse consumables are sufficiently and timeously ordered.
u) Ensure that all company forklifts/equipment  are utilised in the most cost effective and efficient manner.
v) Submit weekly/monthly reports on all warehouse forklifts and stock as required
w) Measure and monitor stock levels and communicate any stock shortages/ requirements to the Warehouse Manager
x) Ensure that all non conforming products are isolated as per the work instruction and communicated to the relevant parties
y) Perform any other duties required by your designated departmental manager in the efficient and effective running of the warehouse.
Perform all duties to the latest ISO 9001 Requirements.
Function as part of a Team.
Ensure total confidentiality  of all information, internal and external, pertaining to the business
