SUMMARY:
The Stores Assistant is part of the CPT Raw Materials Stores / Receiving team. The Raw Materials Stores / Receiving team has a dual function. The first is to manage the Raw Materials Stores which includes the storage, maintenance and supply of raw material to the Production team.

The second is to receive all incoming deliveries and to manage the goods returned cage. This also includes arranging collections, picking/receiving stock transfers, performing daily stock counts, investigating variances & non-conformances and ensuring the system records accurately match the physical stock.
The Stores Assistant role has (but is not limited to) the following responsibilities:
• Unloading containers and other shipments received from customers/suppliers;
• Picking raw material stock for production based on works order requirements;
• Picking / Checking Interbranch Transfers in accordance with company procedures;
• Completion of daily vehicle & equipment checklists and ensuring preventative maintenance activities are performed (including ensuring that the vehicles are clean at all times);
• Loading/unloading products/supplies from vehicles;
• Checking of goods delivered by Suppliers/Transfers from Jhb Warehouse;
• Putting stock away following company procedures;
• Ensure that Quality Management standards are adhered to at all times;
• Monitor the temperature/humidity of the Stores daily;
• Perform daily stock counts;
• Manage the goods returned cage;
• Identifying and implementing improvements to the Stores processes;
This position does not supervise or direct any staff.
Maintains the company’s Safety, Housekeeping and Quality Standards. Incumbents will be subject to mandatory testing for Alcohol and/or drugs on a random, reasonable suspicion, post-accident, return to duty, and follow up basis.

MINIMUM PREVIOUS WORK EXPERIENCE -[TBC]

DESIRABLE ADDITIONAL EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE AND PERSONAL QUALITIES
Valid Forklift/Stacker License and experience in driving
PC skills (incl. Microsoft Word, Excel & Outlook)
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Organizational skills with the ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously
Must take pride in appearance of warehouse, vehicles and machinery and has good attention to detail
