Food processing plant seeks a Storeman to be responsible for accepting all deliveries of stock, checking that goods are not damaged and received according to specified requirements and stock is accounted for while complying with the GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) and other food safety requirements.
Technical Skills & Experience
Grade 12/NQF Level 4 qualification
24 - 36 months warehouse experience
Forklift and Reach Truck license
Warehouse certificate/Diploma
Knowledge of store handling procedures
Previous experience in a food manufacturing environment
Administration/ Reporting
To complete the required documentation needed for due diligence
All goods received must be accompanied by a COA (Certificate of analysis) or COC (Certificate of Compliance and invoice or delivery note
Notify the Procurement Officer that stock has been received
Maintenance
Responsible for weekly racking inspection
Ensure forklift is operated and stored correctly
Required to perform safety checks on identified machinery
Monitors the temp of temperature-controlled storage areas
Inventory Management
Responsible for ensuring that stock is rotated in the “First expired, First out” principle
Ensure that rejected stock is correctly isolated in a designated area until disposed of
To issue stock daily in the exact quantities as required by Production
Ensure all stock is correctly identified and labeled
Risk and Compliance
Comply with the necessary Occupational Health and Safety requirements
Ensure compliance to all food safety regulations, allergen control, housekeeping, and pest control
Participate in personal hygiene check
