POSITION INFO:

We are looking for an experienced STORE MANAGERS to join the team of a well-known retail brand in Cape Town. 

The Store Managers will be based in Canal Walk or Waterfront and will be responsible to strategically drive results to ensure that the store achieve maximum sales, productivity and profit goals through effective leadership, effective communication, world class service, effective talent management, merchandising excellence, and operational compliance. To motivate teams and to create a vibrant, energetic store environment. 

Store Manager duties and responsibilities to include but not limited to:

Daily Operations

• Open and close the store securely
• Handle cash registers and bank deposits
• Keep the store clean and safe 

Staff Management

• Hire, train, and onboard employees
• Build weekly staff schedules
• Coach team members and review performance
• Handle staff conflicts and discipline 

Sales and Finance

• Track daily and monthly sales targets
• Manage store operating budgets and expenses
• Analyse sales data to spot trends
• Report financial results to Area Manager 

Inventory and Merchandising

• Count stock and reorder products
• Check incoming shipments for accuracy
• Set up attractive product displays
• Prevent theft and stock loss 

Customer Service

• Solve tough customer complaints
• Train staff on good service habits
• Process returns and special requests 

Store Manager Competencies required:

-          Above average level of expertise in dealing with both the general public and store teams

-          A proven commitment to customer service excellence

-          Superb interpersonal and organisational skills

-          A definite aptitude for visual and marketing strategies

-          Excellent time management skills

-          Superior Microsoft office skills

-          An ability to work independently with little or no supervision

-          A solid aptitude for interpreting and reacting to market trends in a timely fashion

Store Manager Requirements:

-          Education background: Matric is a prerequisite.  A tertiary qualification would be an added advantage.

-          Experience: Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Store Manager preferably in the fashion / apparel / footwear brand environment.  We are looking for someone that has strong sales experience and a stable track record.

-          Interpersonal skills: Strong problem-solving skills and proven ability to use you own initiative.  We are looking for someone that has outstanding leadership skills and the ability to manage a functional team.  Someone with excellent communication and presentation skills; written and verbal. 

-          Business Acumen: Proficient in Microsoft applications and have knowledge and ability to effectively apply company strategy/ policy/ procedure at store level.  You need to have good interpersonal, motivational and mentoring skills.

-          Other: You must have a valid Drivers licence and own vehicle - travelling is required.  You also need to be willing to work store level should the need arise.  

Store Manager salary:  Competitive Remuneration:  market-related salary package.
