SUMMARY:
A well-established Packaging company based in Westmead, Pinetown, requires the services of a Stock Controller.
The successful incumbent must be able to start immediately.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Position: Stock Contoller

Job Profile:

Maintained the Quality objectives and delivery deadlines in accordance to the operational targets set out in the factory and the planning departments.
Maintained the warehouse with regards to having the raw material arranged as per the different substrates(categories eg. supplier, size, thickness and type).
Managed all the daily returns/offcuts (RTS - Return To Stores) from the factory.
Managed the receiving and verified ALL incoming stock as a 2nd signatory.
Plan, co-ordinate and monitor all stock
Inspect and sign off the raw material prior to issuing the correct material as per the job card/s.
Follow up regularly during the day to ensure all the WIP (Work In Progress for slitting) was returned to Stores and correctly labelled before being issued with a job card to the factory.
Conduct daily cycle counts of the raw material and the consumables.
Ensure that the raw material was labelled correctly and reserved as per the jobs procured for.
Work in line with the British Retail Consortium (BRC) requirements.
Maintained the warehouse equipment eg. Forklifts, reach truck, pallet jacks and scanners with records.
Managed warehouse data capturing staff to ensure SYSRO is updated hourly for information to be live and as per the physical stock in the warehouse.
Plan future storage requirements for raw material that was procured.
Liaise closely with the procurement departments on the delivery of the raw material.
Monitor staff performances and progress on daily tasks. Tasks are completed within a time frame.
Recommend training for staff where required.
Draft SOP’s, finalize and conduct the necessary training with records.
Produce reports on a daily, weekly and monthly basis
Report on aging stock
Report on health and safety within the warehouse
Report on the daily usage of the RTS raw material. Target is to maintain the lowest RTS stock holding as possible. RTS material is be issued before virgin stock.
Weekly tonnage stats.
Have a daily operational meeting with the warehouse staff with records on storage, housekeeping and stock rotation.
Co-ordinate returns and debits to Supplier – liaise with the accounts department to ensure that all credits are passed.
Maintain control of all consumables with records being kept and ensure that the consumables are issued to the correct departments.
Monitor and reduce overtime – ensure plan is expedited within the week for no weekend overtime to be incurred.
Manage warehouse staff productively.
Conduct daily warehouse walkabouts.
Handle staff disciplinary – warnings, setting down enquiries with the help of HR.
Handle labour contract staff.
Conduct monthly physical stock verification vs SYSPRO quantities.
Processing of documentation for all received stock. GRN processing and scanning of barcoded labels.
Requesting of new barcodes for new raw material.
Filling in for absent staff and performing their duties.
Ensure that the Stores department operates smoothly with compliance to company policies and procedures as set out.
Compiling of NCR documents.
Conducting stock variance investigations with feedback within 24 to 48 hours.
Planning and conducting monthly consumable stock take.
Requesting consumable stock when safety levels are reached.
Scanning of GIT stock.
Processing of documents for inter depot transfers.
Conducting monthly warehouse fire equipment and racking inspections
