SUMMARY:
Opportunity for a Statistical Data Scientist with experience in the short term industry. The ideal candidate should have advanced technical skills , Analytical skills and a strong passion for data science.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Our client a short-term insurer, is seeking an Statistical Data Scientist to join their team in Centurion. The individual we are looking for must have exceptional Analytical and Data Skills and they must have a PASSION for DATA.

Location: Centurion (Gauteng)

Technical Experience and Requirements

Essential, must have experience in the following programs;
Microsoft Exel/Advanced (2 years or more)
SQL (2 years or more)
Experience in modelling software such as R Studio for data analysis and Phython required
Experience in Short-term industry will be adventageous.

Role Purpuse

Involved in all analytics related aspects of a short-term insurer; Including:
Performance remuneration
Product Development
Experience Monitoring
Process Optimization
And other projects, the role require accountability for BAU processes - but more focussed on ad-hoc projects involving a range of key arreas/processes of a short term insurer
This role is a broad technical role that require strong passion for data science

Key responsibilities

Data collection, verification and management
Extract insights and recommend actions through statistical solutions to meet business needs
Report on any analysis, modelling or solutions developed
Remuniration modelling management

Educational experience

Degree in Actuarial Science, Statistics, Business Science, Business Mathematics
or
Other Degrees or postgraduate qualifications with a statistical/modelling aspect and/or experience will be considered
Actuarial candidates need to have passed all CT and CA1 exams.
