Hospitality Hire SA is recruiting on behalf of a large 300+ room hotel in Cape Town
We’re seeking a motivated Spray Painter to join the engineering and maintenance team.
POSITION INFO:
The successful candidate will:
- Apply high-quality finishes to furniture, fixtures, and surfaces throughout the hotel.
- Ensure a flawless and professional appearance that reflects the hotel’s luxury standards.

Key Responsibilities
Surface Preparation & Painting- Prepare surfaces for painting, including cleaning, sanding, masking, and priming.
- Apply spray paint and coatings using spray guns or other tools to achieve smooth, uniform finishes.
- Select and mix paint colors according to project specifications.
Quality & Standards- Ensure all painted surfaces meet the highest standards of finish, consistency, and durability.
- Inspect work for defects and perform touch-ups as necessary.
Maintenance & Equipment- Clean and maintain painting equipment and tools.
- Store paints, solvents, and other materials safely in line with health and safety regulations.
- Report equipment malfunctions or supply shortages to the Maintenance Manager.
Health, Safety & Compliance- Adhere to occupational health and safety guidelines, including proper PPE usage and ventilation.
- Follow environmental and chemical handling regulations.
Team Collaboration- Work collaboratively with the engineering and maintenance team to support refurbishment and repair projects.
- Assist with other maintenance-related tasks as required to support smooth hotel operations.
Qualifications & Education Requirements
- Proven experience as a Spray Painter in a commercial, industrial, or hospitality environment.
- Knowledge of paints, coatings, and finishing techniques.
- Understanding of safety procedures and proper use of protective equipment.

- Ability to work independently and efficiently under deadlines.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Team player with good communication skills.
Experience
- Minimum 1–3 years’ experience in a Spray Painter or similar role, preferably in a hotel, industrial, or commercial setting.
