SUMMARY:
Duties & Responsibilities Include:
 

  • Work closely with the HOD and Student Affairs by providing input in developing and implementing University strategies, policies and principles, communicated and supported by operational initiatives, consistent with the University principles, strategy and plan
  • Coordinates and supports the development of coaching at all levels
  • Source quotations and provide procurement support various sporting codes in line with university SCM policy.
  • Keep record of all office resources and equipment in ensuring that there is up-to-date inventory list of departmental asserts and equipment.
  • To accredit UFH Sports facilities for events, ensure delivery of services to students and ensuring a systematic maintenance of Sports equipment
  • To oversee, scrutinise and keep record of expenditure to omit unnecessary overspending. Also to direct and keep record of the fund raising efforts and spending by Sporting Codes.
  • To implement and maintain integrated systems for the audit and monitoring of Sports programmes


JOB DESCRIPTION:

Minimum Requirements:
  • A tertiary sports or health science qualification or equivalent with experience in a tertiary sport qualification set-up
  • Minimum of five years’ experience working with sports teams at an institutional level
  • Proven leadership, event organising and administrative skills at provincial and national level.
Recommendation: 
  • Code 8 driver’s license
  • Female candidates will be granted first preference.
 
Competencies:
  • Sports knowledge, skills and administration. Having played and/or coached sports would be preferable
  • Knowledge of Strategic and Operational Planning, implementation of policy in alignment to initial planning
  • Sports Club Management, Budgeting & Financial control in a University Sports set up
  • Interpersonal and People Management skills
  • Good communication and writing skills at a junior level
  • Good Computer Skills
  • Motivated, enthusiastic and energetic individual with a passion for sport and to making a difference to sport excellence
  • Willingness to work odd and long hours
