Specialist: Mining & Technical

Key responsibilities will include:

• Ensuring optimal utilization of production resources in line with long term plans

• Developing and managing all process optimization projects to meet the Magnetite five-year business plan

• Overseeing reconciliation of actual versus planned and analysis of variances, and report on outcomes and causes

• Supervise, coordinate, and control the activities of a multi-disciplinary team to ensure optimization of human resources

• Identify mobile equipment needs and develop capital appropriations for sustainability of mobile equipment

• Assist in developing and implementing cost efficiency programs

• Identifying training needs and ensuring appropriate training is conducted

• Developing performance agreements for subordinates and evaluating them against set standards.

Intrinsic Qualities:

• Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills

• Ability to create a mining plan, execute and ensure compliance.

• Proactive participation in improving the work environment

• Proven safety and production track record in a leadership position.

• Ability to work in a team environment and independently.

• Ability to provide guidance and problem solving.

Qualifications and Experience:

• B Degree or B Tech in Mining Engineering or Geology.

• Knowledge of MS Office & SAP.

• Knowledge of Geovia Surpac or an equivalent license for mine design and planning software.

• Competent A Certificate.

• Five years relevant experience of which 2 years were in a supervisory capacity.
