SUMMARY:
This role will regulate the relationship between management, employees and with external institutions such as the CCMA. Promote and maintain communication between management, unions and employees. Provide advice and support to managers with regard to labour law.

POSITION INFO:

Diploma/Degree Labour Relations

3 years’ experience in an ER environment

Knowledge of SA Labour legislation.

Computer Literacy and Microsoft Office Suite

Valid driver''s license.

ADVANTAGE:

Knowledge and experience of HR Information systems TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:

Identify discrepancies regarding the compliance to agreements.

Know and understand the disciplinary procedures of the Company. Specialist Employee Relations 

Give guidance to Human Resources Manager with regards to relevant ER Company policies and procedures, work practices and legislation and its interpretation.

Advise line managers on legal compliance with regard to Labour Relations Act (LRA) and all other relevant legislation.

Ensure consistency and fairness in the interpretation and application of the Disciplinary Code across mine operations. Monitor, analyse and report trends of misconduct to relevant persons.

Ensure that all ER reporting is aligned with standards, guidelines and schedules.

Arrangement and coordination of disciplinary and grievance hearings.

Coordinate ER process related logistics. Compile hearings and CCMA case documentation. Open and prepare CCMA case files. Attend to CCMA cases upon being allocated to operation.

Ensure that all ER related processes are held within the reasonable time as per policies and procedure.

Assist in the resolution of matters emanating from engagement forums (Future Forum, Mine Negotiating Forum and Accommodation and Living Conditions meetings etc.) and that are captured, monitored.

Schedule mandatory meetings and ensure that they are held in line with different regulations and agreements, minutes of these meetings and ensure all minutes of the meetings are adopted and signed off by relevant stakeholders.

Prepare and conduct on-mine ER training and Induction sessions.

Establish and maintain good working relationships and an effective / sound communication system with the operation.

Take cognisance of and adhere to Company policies, procedures and relevant legislation. Manage and report on non compliance issues.
