JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Spa Wellness Manager is responsible for the effective and efficient running of the spa at all properties allocated to you. Managing and leading all team members reporting to you to provide the best service and treatments possible for all clients. Treat all clients and staff with the utmost care and professionalism to create an inviting and calm atmosphere. 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Qualification: Grade 12 or Equivalent.

Beauty Therapy Diploma preferably CIDESCO, SAAHSP, and/or ITEC.

Minimum 8 years in the Spa/Beauty Industry.

Minimum 2 years experience in a management role.

Experience: Qualified in the Spa/Beauty industry.

Familiar with the duties and procedures within a Spa/Wellness Centre.

Computer Literate / Microsoft Proficiency especially Excel.

Basic knowledge regarding Opera and ESP systems is advantageous.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Treatments

  • Must be familiar with all treatment protocols
  • Must have a clear understanding of all Mint Spa-related products
  • Ensure that all services offered by Mint Wellness are delivered to the highest standard
  • Carry out accurate skin analysis and give advice about skin and body care
  • Back up a therapist for all treatments

Administration

  • Maintain client records with a confidential and effective system
  • Demonstrate an expert-level knowledge of ESP and Opera
  • Present treatment and product training
  • Use downtime as up-time to improve knowledge and services
  • Daily control of contribution sheets and signing off
  • Manage Quality control
  • Building databases
  • Maintain a high standard of spa hygiene
  • Stock ordering
  • Writing of business-specific SOPs
  • Locum management
  • Staff administration in collaboration with the HR department
  • Equipment management
  • A clear understanding of the business finances and signing of monthly management accounts
  • Maintain Mint Wellness server
  • Rostering of staff
  • Manage Mint WhatsApp group
  • Manage Staff Menu & Discounts

Sales & Marketing

  • Give advice about skin and body care
  • Build and maintain client relationships and communicate with clients on a regular basis to inform them about specials and anything else that might interest them
  • Upsell products and services, adopt a no-waste approach regarding products
  • Consistently meet and push set out targets
  • Ensure that all product display cabinets are presented in an attractive and professional manner
  • Source of marketing material
  • Work with the marketing team to ensure social media for the brand is on standard
  • Provide all HODs with relevant Mint info/specials i.e. Front Desk and Travel Support

Mentorship and team support

  • Therapists' training and management, continually developing their skills and knowledge
  • Conduct Probation and Performance reviews
  • Promote a mindful culture within the team
  • Foster relationships with suppliers and vendors
  • Educate team about other departments of the hotel in collaboration with other HOD’s
  • Setting an example for the staff and acting as the liaison between managers, consultants and therapists

General Standards

  • Monitor brand standards
  • Guest reviews and satisfaction incl. complaints
  • Ensuring all clean-up and housekeeping duties are being performed and up to standard
  • Quality management

Management

  • Keep up to date on trends and competition
  • Onboarding and exiting of staff
  • Liaise with suppliers and ensure regular training incentives
  • Updating of latest treatment costings and pricelist
  • Maintain client database and facilitate promotion activation
  • Cross-promotion and selling of the spa services with the in-house reservations team
  • Inspiring the team to create retail growth and managing sales training
  • Communicate SOP and the implementation off said SOP
