Sous Chef Timbavati

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Looking for a Sous Chef for a 5 star lodge in the Timbavati.

 

Experience required:

At least 2+ years Chef experience as a Sous chef in five star lodge or hotel

Formal Qualification/s

Understanding and experience on PANstrat or Pastel is favourable

 Knowledge of various cooking methods, ingredients, and procedures

Computer Literate and sound knowledge of Excel and Word

Familiarity with industry’s best practices

Ability to execute instructions by the Executive Chef or Lodge Manager

Creativity

Time-management skills

Decision making

Dietary Knowledge

Handles pressure in a professional manner

HACCP (FIFO etc)

Ability to work well with other chefs

All-rounder, but experience in pastry is favourable.

Ability to mentor and train staff

Valid RSA Drivers Licence would be beneficial

 

Duties include:

Kitchen Hygiene standards set

Responsible for assisting on training chefs & implementing kitchen standards.

Abide by the Menu set

Creative Bush Banqueting

Proactive Maintenance

Good communication

Good stock controls and stock rotation

Assist with the management of food orders, storerooms and fridge and deep freezers

 

This is a live-in position and couples will also be considered if one is a chef and the other will benefit another team with excellent admin skills.
