JOB DESCRIPTION:

Small and intimate restaurant in Camps Bay seeks young, energetic and talented Sous Chef. You will have access to fresh ingredients and your own herb garden to create simple but luxurious Italian Bistro style food.  If this sounds like an exciting opportunity, we would like to hear from you. 

Education:

  • Matric
  • Professional cooking certificate / Culinary diploma essential

Work Experience:

  • Previous similar experience in 4 or 5 star hotels
  • At least 5 years work experience

Main duties and responsibilities:

  • Orders and Deliveries
  • Supervise kitchen in the absence of the Head Chef
  • Conform to all hygiene and cleanliness standards, knowledge of HACCP
  • Food Costing
  • Develop new menus with seasonal ingredients
  • Maintain food quality, time management and presentation
  • Stock Control
