Valor Hospitality Partners is recruiting for an external client based in George, Western Cape.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Our client is searching for a creative, motivated and experienced sous chef to join their talented kitchen team. Our ideal candidate is a creative professional who is willing to participate in creating delicious seasonal menus and meal designs.

Culinary qualifications
A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role within large busy hotel kitchens.
Strong knowledge of cooking methods, kitchen equipment, and best practices.
Good understanding of MS Office and restaurant software programs.
Teamwork-oriented with outstanding leadership abilities.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Duties:

Assist with the preparation and planning of meals for all food and beverage outlets.
Ensure that kitchen activities operate in a timely manner.
Monitor and record inventory required.
Provide support to junior kitchen employees with various tasks including line cooking, food preparation, and dish plating.
Train new kitchen employees to meet kitchen standards.
Adhere to and implement sanitation regulations and safety regulations.
