POSITION INFO:
Solution Architect required for one of Glasgow''s most prestigious professional services firms, on a 12 month Fixed-Term contract (with a real chance of becoming permanent). The company are working remotely for the time being, but upon return you will be based in their Glasgow city centre office. They currently have three SA roles, and you will be focused on either automation/data centres or helping to architect a new HR and people system (they have recently implemented Oracle Fusion). This role is a 12-month Fixed-Term contract, however there is real opportunity for this to become permanent with the direction the company is going in. The company are currently going through a digital transformation and they have as many as 10 new architecture roles in Glasgow.
They operate across a number of countries and are in the process of reviewing all of the business services offerings. These roles are sitting within the Enterprise Architecture function and you will be an experienced Solution Architect, ideally with experience of successful project delivery across a larger scale, professional services organisation.
For the HR People project, you would ideally have experience of being an Architect on a HR system implementation (Peoplesoft/Oracle etc). In this role, you will be helping to design the system and also to install new modules across the system. In implementing this new Learning and Management system, it will integrate back with the HR system.
For the other Solution Architect roles, these will have more of a focus on Infrastructure technologies and UAT/Test/Prod environments. You will ideally have knowledge around data centre components (servers, storage, networks) and in an ideal world, knowledge of any automation technologies.
The company you will be joining are undertaking large scale business change and there is plenty of work to be done now and moving forward. They are ideally looking for someone to start no later than one months'' time, and you will be getting your hands dirty from day one. Key Skills and Experience:
** A number of years as a Solution Architect, across different environments
** The ability to participate in the development and continuous improvement of application and data architectures, technology architectures, development architectures
** Ensure that the architectures you create, are recognised as the road map for all business services and technical solutions
** Keep up to date with developments in appropriate new technologies/services and participate in the investigation / assessment of the suitability of these
** Production of technical solution designs for assigned projects, and gaining acceptance and approval from internal stakeholders
** Experience with environments (Prod/UAT/Dev/Test)
EITHER:
** Experience of implementing an HR or people system (such as Oracle Fusion/Peoplesoft etc)
OR
** Experience around Data Centre components (server, storage, networks) and experience with any automation technologies
