Solutions Architect

The successful candidate will take ownership for the overall application systems design. The candidate needs to be a family person, have good solid values, friendly and approachable. For this position, the successful candidate would need to lead and mentor at times. This position sits in a consultancy space, therefore ideally the candidate needs to be able to function on their own and be outspoken.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in information systems/Informatics/Computer Science/Engineering
• Certified (or in completion) Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect Expert
• Experience with Azure and M365 platforms
• AWS and Google Cloud
• TOGAF/Zachman (beneficial)
• Windows, MacOS, Linux, iOS, and Android operating systems
• Min 3 years’ experience working in Solutions or Architecture space
• Min 10 years working experience in relevant industry or discipline.
• Experience with migrating infrastructures to cloud environments.
• Database platform and design
• Identify gaps in existing structures
• Computer networking concepts and protocols (TCP/IP, DNS) and network methodologies
• Network access, identity, access management (public key infrastructure, Oauth, OpenID, SAML, SPML)
• Capabilities and applications of network equipment (incl. routers, switches, servers, transmission media, and related hardware)
• Remote access
• Application firewall concepts and functions
• Business continuity and disaster recovery operation plans.

• Gather functional requirements
• Develop specifications
• Determine scope project
• Be able to identify areas that need attention in terms of solutions
• Be at the fore front of the developmental cycle, lead and assist during the cycle.
• Build a relationship and liaise with clients, as well as with outside vendors
• Report back to the client on project process
