POSITION INFO:

Responsible for the analysis of small applications or part of a team on larger applications. Responsible for the systematic and methodical investigation, analysis and documentation of all or part of a business area in terms of business functions and processes and the information they use.  Identifies and examines business needs and determines timely and effective solutions to business functions and processes.  Acts as a bridge between the business and the IT development team.  Documents the underlying business architecture and conducts feasibility studies, business cases, risk assessments, writes proposals and creates functional requirements for new applications and major changes to existing applications made possible by information and communication technology                   

Formal Education                            

●             Grade 12 (NQF 4)            

●             Tertiary qualification in Information Technology (NQF 6) or relevant years experience and technical certification       

Experience                        

●             7 - 10 years experience in IT       

●             5 years experience in solution architecture management running multiple and complex enterprise solutions               

Technical/Legal Certification                      

●             TOGAF 9/10 - Practitioner level 2              

●             ITIL v3/4 Foundation Certification            

●             ITIL v3/4 Intermediate (Service Design) 

●             Cobit    

Responsibilities

• A Solution Architect who is responsible for deploying overseeing Business Solution Architecture strategy. This includes adoption plans, application design, integration and and data architecture.
• The  Solution Architect will oversee application architecture and solution deployment in client environments.
• Experienced in developing and optimising terraforms, workloads and provisioning , including but not limited SaaS solutions.
• Facilitate deep technical discussions with customers and partners.
• Provide domain expertise around data architecture, integration and enterprise technologies.
• Define technology direction, in the form of standards and principles, for area of expertise based on analysis, industry standards and previous experiences.
• Experience working with industry analysis and enterprise technologies.
• Experience producing technical assets or writing technical documentation of exceptional quality with great attention to detail.
• Have a deep understanding of Enterprise Architecture methodologies and frameworks i.e. TOGAF 9/10 and working knowledge of Enterprise Architecture toolsets.
• Experience demonstrating strong and effective communications including presenting to senior IT and business leaders, and presenting to architecture peers, boards, and technical audiences with the effect of influencing the decision.
• Strong cross-team collaboration and leadership skills.
• Understanding of COTS and Bespoke Solutions Economics and architecture decisions based on CapEx and OpEx impacts on operational Run Rates and overall TCO.
• Experience creating a long term vision while execute on the vision in the short term.
• Software engineering & development experience.
• Large system design experience.
