Solar Sales Representative

SUMMARY:
Job Purpose
The Solar Sales Representative is responsible for generating new business, promoting solar energy solutions, and closing sales with residential, commercial, or industrial clients. The role focuses on educating customers on renewable energy solutions, conducting site assessments, preparing quotations, and delivering excellent customer service while meeting sales targets.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development

• Identify and generate new sales leads through cold calling, referrals, and networking
• Promote and sell solar energy systems to residential and commercial clients
• Conduct site visits and basic energy assessments
• Prepare and present quotations and proposals
• Close sales and achieve monthly and quarterly targets

• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients
• Educate clients on solar products, benefits, and return on investment
• Provide after-sales support and ensure client satisfaction

• Maintain accurate records of leads, sales, and client interactions
• Update CRM systems and sales pipelines
• Prepare sales reports and forecasts

• Stay informed on solar technology, pricing, and industry trends
• Understand financing options, incentives, and regulations
• Represent the company professionally at all times

POSITION INFO:
Qualifications

• Matric (Grade 12) – essential
• Qualification in Sales, Marketing, or Renewable Energy (advantageous)

• Proven sales experience (solar or technical sales preferred)
• Experience in direct sales, B2B or B2C environments

• Strong communication and negotiation skills
• Target-driven and results-oriented
• Good presentation and interpersonal skills
• Basic technical understanding of solar systems
• Computer literate (CRM, MS Office)
• Valid driver’s licence and reliable transport (preferred)

• Self-motivated and proactive
• Professional and well-presented
• Trustworthy with strong work ethic
