POSITION INFO:

Job Purpose:

If you are a certified Red Seal Electrician with substantial solar installation experience, this opportunity is for you. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Solar Lead Installation Electrician to join our dynamic team. Your primary role will involve leading the installation of residential and light commercial grid-tied photovoltaic (PV) systems. This position requires an electrically-minded individual capable of overseeing the entire installation process, ensuring that all work adheres to the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency, in full compliance with SANS and design specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

Collaborate with the Technical Support Manager to review project plans and ensure installations align with the original design.

Lead and work alongside crew members to complete projects within established timeframes, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.

Assemble solar array racking, properly seal all roof penetrations, and install related equipment.

Set up solar monitoring systems, ensuring the highest levels of quality assurance and control.

Diagnose and troubleshoot system malfunctions and operational issues efficiently.

Communicate with customers professionally, addressing any questions or concerns with respect and clarity.

Qualifications:

Experience: A minimum of 3 years in solar installation is required. Candidates without solar or extensive electrical experience will not be considered.

Technical Expertise: Proven experience with both roof and ground mount systems, micro and string inverters, and setting up monitoring systems.

Certifications:

AREP/SAPVIA PV Green Card Certification (preferred)

QCTO Red Seal Electrician Certification in the Republic of South Africa (mandatory)
