Job Description
This role involves the design and development of features and services that facilitate and align to the delivery of FX Modernization objectives. Development of features and completion of deliverables for FX Modernisation as prioritised by business and technology
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop, test, and deploy software applications in accordance with project requirements and timelines.
- Analyse user needs and software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints.
- Write well-structured, efficient, and maintainable code following coding standards and guidelines.
- Collaborate with business analysts, architects, and other stakeholders to understand and clarify requirements.
- Perform unit testing, integration testing, and support system testing activities.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve software defects and issues promptly.
- Maintain comprehensive technical documentation for developed applications and systems.
- Participate in code reviews to ensure quality and consistency across the software development team.
- Keep up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends relevant to banking and finance software development.
- Ensure compliance with security policies and regulatory requirements throughout the software development lifecycle.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.
Experience
- Minimum of two years’ experience in software development, preferably within the banking or financial services industry.
- Proven experience working on full software development lifecycle projects.
- Experience with object-oriented programming languages and modern development frameworks.
Knowledge and Skills
- Strong programming skills in languages such as Java, C#, Python, or equivalent.
- Familiarity with database management systems and SQL.
- Understanding of software development methodologies including Agile and Waterfall.
- Good analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of software version control systems.
- Awareness of security standards and data protection principles within the financial sector.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional certifications in software development or related technologies.
- Experience with cloud platforms and containerisation technologies.
- Knowledge of banking applications and financial services technology landscape.
- Familiarity with automated testing and continuous integration / continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
