SUMMARY:
Introduction: Our client is urgently looking to appoint a Skills Transfer and Personnel Logistics Lead: Well Delivery in their Offices in Mozambique.

POSITION INFO:

The Skills Transfer and Personnel Logistics Lead plays a central role in both key objectives of the Sasol Mozambique Exploration Remediation and Infill drilling Campaign (MERIC), namely to Safely Delivery Quality Wells and to Transfer Skills to Mozambicans.

The successful incumbent will be responsible for the in-country management of the Skills Transfer programme for all Sasol Well Delivery direct hire and service company personnel. This includes development and implementation of the training and competency management processes for Sasol personnel and assurance of the equivalent service company programmes.

Overall responsibility for managing and supporting the Integrated Logistics Service (ILS) provider in execution of their duties and driving continuous improvement in operational and SHE performance. Directly responsible for managing and coordinating all personnel movements into, within and out of the field. This will include development and implementation of a logistics management system to ensure all relevant immigration, SHE and competency criteria are met prior to mobilisation and that all personnel movements between multiple in-field locations are tracked to ensure accurate record of movements and POB for operations management, COVID control and ER purposes.

Desired Experience and qualifications:

  • 10+ years logistics experience within an upstream Oil and Gas environment
  • 10+ years of experience working on well delivery projects
  • 10+ years exposure to Supply Base and Camp Management operations
  • 10+ years exposure to remote land-based operations
  • 5-10 years of experience in implementation of skills transfer/nationalization programmes
  • 5-10 years working in multinational teams
  • Experience in development of competency management programmes advantageous
  • Understanding of technical well operations and associated services required
  • Experience and demonstrated competency in managing the movement of personnel together with a sound knowledge of applicable procedures and processes.

  • Strong IT skills with high level of proficiency in Microsoft Office and working knowledge of SharePoint, AGR iQx and web-based logistics management systems required.
  • Fluency or working knowledge of Portuguese is highly advantageous
  • Fluency in English required

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead by example in creation of safe working conditions through implementation of the Sasol SHE Management plan and compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practice
  • Drive SASOL Life Saving Rules, High Severity Incident programme and overall SHE Performance within MERIC
  • Implement and develop Sasol Mozambique Skills Transfer programme in MERIC campaign.
  • Develop training, mentorship and competency assurance programmes for Sasol staff and direct hire personnel
  • Work with service companies to ensure that their skills transfer programmes are developed in-line with Sasol requirements
  • Conduct first level assurance of service company programmes
  • Present status of Skills Transfer programme to Sasol and other stakeholder management
  • Lead daily progress and task allocation meetings with ILS provider and contractor
  • Agree and monitor the ILS maintenance and inspection program with to ensure suitable maintenance and serviceability of all personnel vehicles.
  • Administration of Journey Management process and plans
  • Conduct first level assurance of ILS to ensure conformity with the agreed procedures
  • Prepare and distribute operational and management reporting of personnel status and movements into, within and out of field
  • Manage Supply Base room allocation
  • Develop and implement project specific personnel movement plans and procedures
  • Emergency Response Plan duties as assigned by the FOM.
