Our Client in the Finance / Insurance Industry is seeking to employ a Short-Term Underwriter to their team based in Eastern Cape, Port Elizabeth.

POSITION INFO:
Requirements:
- Fully bilingual in English and Afrikaans (non-negotiable due to client base)
- Grade 12 (Matric) certificate or accepted NQF4 qualification.
- A qualification accepted by the FSCA.
- A minimum of 3–5 years of experience in a similar underwriting role.
- RE5 Regulatory Examination for Representatives.
- Class of Business: Short-Term Personal Lines (if DOFA date is post 01/04/2018).
- Class of Business: Short-Term Commercial Lines (if DOFA date is post 01/04/2018).
- In-depth knowledge of short-term insurance cover.
- Ability to explain insurance products clearly to clients and insurers.
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and Internet usage.
Responsibilities:
- Provide professional underwriting services to clients.
- Handle policy renewals, amendments, and general servicing.
- Ensure all documentation is complete and compliant with regulatory requirements.
- Maintain strong relationships with clients and insurers.
- Upsell and cross-sell appropriate insurance products.
- Accurately process quotes, endorsements, and renewals.
