Shipping and Logistics Clerk based in Johannesburg – 12K – 15K

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Primary Purpose of Role: This person is responsible for the verification and record keeping of incoming shipments: Compares items of incoming shipments to verify information against invoices, orders, or other records. He/she will communicate with suppliers and forwarders on a regular basis to track and trace goods.
Key areas of responsibility:

Receives product deliveries, ensuring order and invoice accuracy
Ensures the efficient and accurate processing of the capturing of costings.
Liaise with forwarders regarding deliveries and relevant documentation.
Plan and monitor of deliveries with the receiving department.
Ensure incoming shipments are checked.
Reject damaged items, record shortages, and correspond with suppliers to rectify damages and shortages.
Co-ordinate deliveries of international orders:
Follow up on delays, late deliveries, back orders, etc.
Performs other duties as assigned to meet business needs.

Minimum requirements

Grade 12 (pre-requisite)
Computer literacy diploma/certificate
Shipping and logistics qualification highly beneficial
At least one to two years’ experience in shipping and logistics
Excellent communications skills (both verbal and written)
PC literacy; SAP, Excel, and Word essential (Qwix experience beneficial)
Excellent listening skills
Problem solving skills
Time management skills
Team player
