JOB DESCRIPTION:

Our client based in Kempton Park is seeking to employ a Shipping and Costing Administrator in their organization. 

The purpose of a Shipping and Costing Administrator is to process and control international
shipments.

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Matric or equivalent.
  • Completed a degree or diploma in Purchasing or Logistics.
  • Knowledge and experience of basic bookkeeping and creditors function.
  • Knowledge and experience in SAP system.
  • 3 years within a purchasing and logistics environment in a similar role.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and Outlook skills.
  • Must be able to work overtime if and when required (during month ends and stock take).
  • Clear disciplinary record.
  • Clear credit and criminal history.

Responsibilities: 

  • Work in conjunction with the Warehouse, Purchasing, Finance departments and Forwarding
    Agents.
  • Daily monitoring and updating of shipment tracker.
  • Proper data maintenance: suppliers, system and shipment files.
  • Accurately and timeously booking stock into the SAP system.
  • Ensure that cost of goods balance back to the supplier invoices and costings.
  • Balance shipment files and hand them over to finance and payment.
  • Liaise with Forwarding Agent for all shipments, documentations, ETAs and delivery schedules.
  • All queries from suppliers to be resolved within a required time frame.
  • Short supplied, damages and Return for Credit.
  • Resolve issues or queries in shipment of goods within the required time frame and ensure that feedback is given to the relevant people timeously.
  • Ability to work under pressure and adhere to deadlines.
  • Ability to handle difficult situations with a strong focus on problem solving and customer service.
