Shipping Co-Ordinator

SUMMARY:
To have overall responsibility of all imports and exports for our client. Imports/ Exports Specifically reefer & Temperature Controlled

POSITION INFO:
Duties:
Plan and implement import/export strategy and activities with overall aims and requirements for the organisation
Ensure that monthly team meetings are held to ensure that strategy is successfully executed
Ensure that management report i.e., Customer name, volume, and revenue with detailed reasons for variances are forwarded to management by the last Friday of every month
Manage the necessary documentation and online forms for the efficient, cost effective and lawful execution of all import/export activities
Ensure all framing of port documents and shipping line waybill on web are done timeously and accurately
Liaise with the VET department to ensure that the organisation is compliant
Reconcile shipping data and the completed reports and forward to management by the 5th of every month
Ensure compliance with all laws and regulations relating to the shipping industry
Act as signatory of the organisation.
Sign authorised cheques and release EFT payments on a daily basis
Ensure that deferment customer payments are made on time
Enquire from clients if there are any reports due and by which dates
Enquire from clients if there are any compliance deadlines
Provide quotations to customers within 24 hours
Ensure the issuance of shipping invoices
Interface with customers to ensure that we are following their prescribed shipping methods and requirements
Ensure that current clients are retained and grow share of wallet by 10 percent per annum
Assist in ALL other departments as per operational requirements.

Requirements:
5-7 years industry related experience
Knowledge of: EDI, bill of entries, SAD 500, VOC, Export, and cargo dues
Framing & Customs Entries , Freight forwarding , Air , Road & Sea.
Knowledge of Imports & Exports
Background of Poultry & Beef Industry.
Bond store registry.
Veterinarian health procedures.
Customs Inco Terms.
Invoicing, Cost Management – Profit & Lost and delivery Management.
Knowledge of the South African Customs Act
