Shipping Clerk

SUMMARY:
An opportunity has arisen for a Shipping Clerk with a client in the Manufacturing industry.

POSITION INFO:

Key Activities and Responsibilities:

- Manage the export clearing instructions for export shipments.

- Communicate with freight forwarders, agents and customers involved with export shipments.

- Responsible for all administrative aspects such as daily track, trace and updating of Export and Depot information, documents for VAT reconciliation and shipping reports.

Any other requirements as requested by the Shipping Supervisor.

Essential criteria and requirements:

- Must have experience within a shipping/logistics background or

- National Diploma: Logistics with a minimum of 2 – 5 years industry related experience.

- Understanding of shipping incoterms and processes, able to interpret and analyse shipping documents.

- Meticulous, neat and accurate administration and computer literacy skills.

- Exposure to electronic processing systems.

- MS Office – intermediate level (excel, word).

- Must be able to work under pressure.

- Able to analyse and interpret data.

- Excellent verbal and written English language skills and able to communicate in a professional manner.

- Must be able to time manage effectively and have a structured work approach.
