SUMMARY:
Our client is looking to employ a qualified Shift Technician. This role will report to the Production Manager and should have previous supervision experience.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Responsibilities:

Control and monitor of the extrusion processes
Managing the production shift to ensure optimal efficiencies
Take full responsibility for process and product quality
Responsible for timeous, correct line set-ups and changeovers
Tool changes, feeder changes and raw material changes
Analyse process and product deviations and perform trouble shooting and adjustments
High focus on OEE indicators (Availability, Performance, Quality)
Monitor and inspect machines and equipment to maintain a high Ievel of mechanical performance
Maintain team morale and discipline - control attendance and punctuality and keeping of records
Keep production area and facilities in a clean and organised condition
Responsible for shift safety and a good safety culture of the team
Drive operational excellence activities such as 5S, set-ups, autonomous maintenance, root cause & corrective action, rapid problem solving, FIFO, tier meetings and skills development
Do maintenance work on shift as required and assist with general maintenance activities

Qualification & Experience:

N4 Electrical Qualification/ Millwright
Red Seal Certification
5+ years in manufacturing environment (extrusion experience advantageous)
3+ years in a position that supervised/managed a team

Good numeracy skills and computer literacy

Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Energetic and dynamic

Additional requirements:

Electronic fault-finding experience would be advantageous
Driver's license and own reliable transport
Forklift license
Must be able to work at heights (good health - medical requirement)

Working hours: 12-hour shifts (Two days 06h00-18h00, two days 18h00-06h00, four days off)
